Some of the best ideas come from the simplest places.

Giang “Thi Thi” Hoang
Founder - President
Giang “Thi Thi” Hoang grew up surrounded by sugarcane fields in Vietnam. As a child, she watched her family and neighbors press the tall green stalks for their sweet juice. A simple, generous plant that gave so much and wasted almost nothing. The fibrous pulp left behind after pressing, called bagasse, was used for fuel, for building, for feeding animals. Nothing was thrown away. Nature provided, and people found a use for every part of it.
That upbringing planted something in Thi Thi that never left: a deep love for the natural world and an instinctive understanding that the things grown from the earth could do more than most people realize. Long before “sustainability” became a business buzzword, she already knew it as a way of life.
She carried that knowledge with her as she built her career as a marketing executive at Exim Bank, one of Vietnam’s leading institutions serving manufacturers across Asia. She developed deep relationships inside the factories and supply chains that shape global commerce. She learned how products were made, where materials came from, and what was possible when the right manufacturing met the right vision.
In 2015, Thi Thi moved to the United States, and later became a dual Vietnam-U.S. citizen. She brought with her the factory access, the manufacturing expertise, and the memory of those sugarcane fields.
What she found in America surprised her. Restaurants, grocers, and foodservice operators were drowning in plastic and styrofoam, stuck between packaging that performed and packaging that was good for the planet. Most believed they had to choose one or the other.
Thi Thi knew they didn’t have to.
She had grown up watching sugarcane become something useful. She had spent her career watching factories turn raw materials into world-class products. She understood, at a level most people don’t, that nature had already given us what we needed. We just had to be smart enough to use it.
That’s why ProTakeOut exists.
From Sugarcane Fields to Commercial-Grade Packaging
Today, ProTakeOut offers one of the largest lines of bagasse, recyclable, biodegradable, and fully compostable food and beverage packaging in the United States. Our bagasse products, made from the same sugarcane pulp Thi Thi watched neighbors use since childhood, are heavy-duty, commercial-grade, and engineered for the real demands of foodservice. Hot, cold, wet, oily, delivered, or grabbed-to-go. They hold up in the kitchen and break down in the earth, exactly the way nature intended.
SAM-Certified, Woman-Owned, Minority Small Business
ProTakeOut helps distributors, operators, and institutions meet supplier diversity goals without compromising on quality, reliability, or scale.
This isn’t just a packaging company. It’s a girl who grew up in the sugarcane fields, who never forgot what she learned there, and who built a business to share it with the world.
